SolarBrain (Pty) Ltd respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), South Africa.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, authentication identifiers (Supabase Auth).
- Plant and site data: addresses, inverter cloud linkage, energy readings, daily summaries.
- Inverter cloud credentials: encrypted at rest via Supabase RPCs; never stored in plain text in the app database.
- Billing: PayFast subscription tokens and promo metadata linked to your plants.
- Support sessions: reason codes and audit logs when staff use elevated access (with consent).
Why we use it
- Provide live solar monitoring, savings estimates, AI diagnostics, and optimisation features.
- Process subscriptions and trials (R149/site/month after 7-day first-site trial).
- Improve reliability, security, and anonymised benchmarking (no sale of personal data).
Where data is stored
Primary hosting: Supabase (Postgres, Auth) and Vercel (application). Inverter data may also be fetched from third-party cloud APIs (Sunsynk, Deye, Solis) using credentials you provide.
Your rights (POPIA)
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information where applicable. Contact support@solarbrain.co.za for privacy requests. You may delete your account via support; generation and billing history may be retained where legally required (sacred history doctrine for energy records).
