SolarBrain

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

SolarBrain (Pty) Ltd respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), South Africa.

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email, authentication identifiers (Supabase Auth).
  • Plant and site data: addresses, inverter cloud linkage, energy readings, daily summaries.
  • Inverter cloud credentials: encrypted at rest via Supabase RPCs; never stored in plain text in the app database.
  • Billing: PayFast subscription tokens and promo metadata linked to your plants.
  • Support sessions: reason codes and audit logs when staff use elevated access (with consent).

Why we use it

  • Provide live solar monitoring, savings estimates, AI diagnostics, and optimisation features.
  • Process subscriptions and trials (R149/site/month after 7-day first-site trial).
  • Improve reliability, security, and anonymised benchmarking (no sale of personal data).

Where data is stored

Primary hosting: Supabase (Postgres, Auth) and Vercel (application). Inverter data may also be fetched from third-party cloud APIs (Sunsynk, Deye, Solis) using credentials you provide.

Your rights (POPIA)

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information where applicable. Contact support@solarbrain.co.za for privacy requests. You may delete your account via support; generation and billing history may be retained where legally required (sacred history doctrine for energy records).
